Honda Foundation and National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) of Thailand co-organized an international symposium on eco-technology entitled, “Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Asia” in Bangkok, on March 28 and 29, 2008. Dr. Kiyoshi Kurokawa, special advisor to the Japanese prime-minister, Assoc. Prof. Sakarindr Bhumiratana, president of NSTDA and other academics, bearcats, business people from Japan, Thailand, Vietnam and Nepal gathered. They discussed and exchanged their opinions on various issues such as “Revisiting Ecotechnology Concept for Asia”, “Resources and Global Environment”, “Water, Food & Environment”, “New and Clean Energy” and “What as citizen of the earth we could do together with the spirit of Ecotechnology”. Dr. Kurokawa also contributed a special lecture on “Development of Innovation System in Japan and Implication for Thailand”.

Vice-chancellor of Tokai University, Dr. Hirohisa Uchida delivered a welcome address.

Nurturing next-generation, young people and effective collaborations among Asian countries are very important.
