About the research:It was my pleasure to work with Prof. Ozaki and how the research developed. Every time I got stuck in the algorithm or bug in code, I always got helped from him. Actually, the research was almost finished in 2 months and we just need to use more advanced theory for further improvement. I have learned new theories that developed by the professor, and some applications that would be needed for my future work. Besides, I also got time to review and fill the gap in my theory (which I cannot fully do when I had to work). We also traveled to Honda R&D Office in Tochigi, and he did helped me lots. I was also adapted well and fast with his students (they are very young and friendly). We often discuss about research, my experience in company and how I learn in university. And we sometimes have very happy parties in the weekends. Although, because I do not understand Japanese, and some students cannot speak in English, that sometimes restrict our communication.Last month, I also worked with a PhD student and helped him to develop his research. That was also a great experience for me to work and learn as a student there. That PhD student is younger, but fast learner, so we worked together very comfortably.
My impressions of Japan:Just one word “Amazing!”
To be honest, I did not think Japan is so beautiful and amazing like this. I love traveling, almost every weekend I go to a new place in Tokyo or Yokohama or near Tokyo to open my eyes and learn new technology. I also used one last week to visit Kyoto, Osaka and Nara, which I had planned to see in Vietnam.
These are beautiful places that I visited: Tokyo bay, Shinjuku, Shibuya, Sky tree, Meiji Shrine, Asakusa, Akihabara, Todai, Showa park, Shinjuku park, Ueno park (during sakura blossom), Tokyo Disney land, Fuji-san, Saitama, Tochigi, most of Kyoto, Minato Mirai 21, China town, many places in Yokohama, Osaka bay, Osaka castle, Nara, etc. I also love high tech and car technology, so I did visit Honda, Toyota and Nissan headquarter and see your new car models. To reduce traveling fee, I usually had bread (from Family mart) and walk.
I went to Japan during winter and spring season, which are the best time to visit. I see winter for the first time of my life, and it is too cold, but I love it. The most amazing comes in spring. I cannot forget the moment I visit Todai, this university is so beautiful. I did feel breathless, because this university was one of my dream. I also cannot forget the moment I walked under trees of sakura, and its flower dropped under the wind, it is just like an anime of Glibi. I also remember the first time seeing Shibuya and Shinjuku, lots of people, banners and skyscrapers, that was amazing and it almost break my neck because of high building. Or the time I was in Kyoto, which was my most unforgettable moment. I still remember the time I first saw Fushimi Inari Shrine, Kinkakuji or Osaka castle, etc. I just can go around and enjoy the beauty there. I also got to know how crowded Disney land is. And why Fuji-san got the simple of Japan (I took tons of photos of Fuji mountain and remember how tourists’ face when they first see it).
My last day in Japan, I went back to YNU and go around the university. I did go around this place so many times, but that time was the first time I went around, took pictures and see students go around. I know I will really miss this place. Then, I asked a friend to travel to Minato Mirai 21 and watch this place at night. That time, I asked myself, can I extend some more days, can I work here, it is just like my second home now, then why should I leave…My impressions of Japanese:“Admirable”, I come to many places, and the same everywhere. I feel really easy to queue with lots of people, comfortable when going to the supper market, and safe when going on the train or going in the night. Some students I knew in the university are very friendly, some are like my brothers.
