Award Ceremony for Honda YES Award in Vietnam

The first Award Ceremony for Honda YES Award in Vietnam took place on December 15th 2006 in Hanoi.

¡¡For the first YES Award, we received more than 70 applications from the top 4 science and engineering schools in Vietnam-Hanoi University of Technology, HUTECH, DaNang University of Technology, and College of Technology of Vietnam National University Hanoi, and honored 10 most brilliant students after carefully considering written essays and personal interviews. Each of the recipients was awarded a US$3,000 study grant as well as an extra-prize motorcycle. They are entitled to receive an additional US$10,000 scholarship if they continue to study in a designated graduate school in Japan.

¡¡Chairman of the YES Award Selection Committee, Yamamuro said the YES Award program was launched in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of Honda Foundation in 2007, and designed to aid future leaders in science and technology. Specifics of the program have been tailored to the needs of Vietnam and use of the grant is unrestricted, he continued, because the Foundation seeks an optimal way to help young Vietnamese achieve their dream and ambition through science and technology.
