Japan is a brilliant place for tourism. It’s beautiful, safe, and clean and can make one fall in love with the people for their overflowing kindness and simplicity. I met few brilliant people here who became friends in an instant but the bond we have feels like that developed over centuries. I did visit the Cultural centers like Kyoto and other special attractions like the Disney Land and sea, the USJ, Anime centers like Akihabara etc. Japanese temples and shrines calmed my soul I really felt at home while visiting them. Climbing the Mt. Fuji was the one of the most memorable moment of my life. I felt all sorts of emotion from fear to victory. My stay in Japan was for a short duration but I believe the memories of walking around the busy streets of Tokyo, sitting in a Shrine surrounded by trees etc. are going to be alive in my consciousness forever. Simply saying, “I don’t want to leave.” Being a vegetarian made my life complex but I was able to deal with it. I found a lot of places where Indian vegetarian food was served. I had both sweet and sour moments. I was disheartened for I wanted to have more friends but language was a big barrier. I didn’t feel good about the academic load because I was expecting it to be much greater. My stay being away from other students made my life miserable for I had no one to socialize. Networking with lab mates were one of my motives but seeing everyone so involved in research discouraged me from disturbing them. My university staff wasn’t cooperative they never counted me amongst their official interns I was given no notifications of get together or any other thing. Overall Japan was brilliant for me as I have one sheer connection Anime but as far as my experiences with research goes they were sweet and sour that made me a bit dissatisfied.
