Y-E-S Award Plus Recipient

Host institution/organization in Japan:
Assoc. Prof. Ai Serizawa, Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT),
Sep 2022-Sep 2023

I would like to acknowledge the host laboratory, Prof. Ai Serizawa, Serizawa Laboratory at Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Shibaura Institute of Technology, for accepting me as a research exchange student, Assoc. Prof. Gasidit Panomsuwan and Assoc. Prof. Sureerat Polsilapa, my advisers at Department of Materials Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University for introducing and assisting me to the host laboratory, and Honda Foundation for providing the financial support as Honda Y-E-S Plus Award.
This research exchange supported my academic goals as a materials engineering student for metal materials. During this program, I studied the effect of the stream coating process on the mechanical properties of aluminum alloy. With the professor’s, tutor's, laboratory's, and institute's assistance in offering equipment, technical expertise, and information sources, I could be able to achieve an environmentally friendly approach to coat aluminum alloy by steam coating process and this approach could enhance the mechanical properties of aluminum alloy.  I had the opportunity to operate some advanced research tools, such as Filed Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FE-SEM), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Micro Hardness, etc., which will benefit my future research. Furthermore, I gained invaluable working and living abroad experiences that would have been very difficult to acquire if I had not been given this opportunity. I had to work and live in new environments, at new places, and with new people. So, I was trained to become more responsible, adaptive, and conductive person. In addition, by participating in this program, I could be one of the small parts that contribute to the development of our laboratories’ connection. Consequently, during my time in Japan as a research exchange student under the Honda Y-E-S Plus Award at Shibaura Institute of Technology, it did not only provide academic experiences but also life experiences and good connections.
