My experience in Japan has been both transformative and inspiring. As a MEXT scholarship student currently pursuing postgraduate research in Informatics at Nagoya University, I have had the opportunity to grow academically while also developing personally.
My journey toward studying in Japan was strongly influenced by receiving the Honda Y-E-S Award in 2023. This recognition gave me the opportunity to visit Japan through the Y-E-S Study Tour Program in 2025. During this experience, I was able to explore leading universities, interact with professors, and gain insight into Japan’s advanced research environment. It was a turning point that inspired me to pursue further studies in Japan.
With continued support from the Honda Foundation through the Y-E-S Plus Program, I was encouraged to take the next step and apply for the MEXT scholarship. Looking back, this support played a crucial role in shaping my academic path and giving me the confidence to move forward.
Living in Japan has provided me with a highly supportive and innovative research environment, along with a safe and peaceful daily life. At the same time, adapting to a different language and academic system has challenged me to become more independent and resilient.
Overall, my experience in Japan has been incredibly rewarding. It has broadened my perspective, strengthened my goals, and motivated me to continue growing both academically and professionally in the future.
