My experience in Japan over the past year has been both transformative and defining. Studying in a rigorous, research-driven environment has pushed me beyond my limits, challenging me to think critically, work independently, and engage deeply with complex academic questions. Under the guidance of my supervisor and within a supportive lab, I have strengthened my focus in agricultural and natural resource economics, particularly through applied econometrics and spatial, satellite data-driven research.
Beyond academics, this journey has been equally personal. Living in Japan has exposed me to new perspectives, cultures, and ways of thinking. The friendships I have built with international students have created a strong sense of community, while navigating language barriers and cultural differences has taught me resilience, adaptability, and humility.
There have been challenges, but they are exactly what made this experience meaningful. From moments of uncertainty to personal growth, each step has shaped who I am becoming. Japan has not only provided me with an excellent academic environment but also a space to grow, reflect, and redefine my goals. This journey has truly shaped both my academic path and my outlook on the world.
