Our society stands at a critical juncture. Science and technology has been a great tool; and it is now progressing more than ever, with national policies also being defined by them. This has seen a coupled growth in responsibility for using science and technology in a pragmatic way; however, the latter has been a lot slower. We should be reminded that, as Soichiro Honda says, "Whether it be learning or technology, everything in this world is nothing more than a means to serve people." The era now needs a paradigm shift that can give us what we really need for the future societies, developments in line with the current society and ecology. As an advocator of science and technology, and believer in the concept of ecotechnology, I dream of guiding the technology world, and at the same time using the knowledge gained to develop new ideas required by the society.
