September 2011-August 2013
I've always wanted to study in Japan since I was a freshman at Royal University of Phnom Penh. During that time, I enthusiastically longed to study in Japan because of her fame of high-tech robots and anime. I'd studied Japanese and tried to apply for any available scholarships to Japan for years. Fortunately, I won the Honda YES in 2010. This is a very important pillar for me to strike forward towards a big step of my dream, studying in Japan. In September 2011, it did come true. In addition to my appreciation of Japanese robotic technologies and anime, the 3.11 event and the follow-up efforts have shocked me of how strong and hard-working Japanese people are. Moreover, Japan has rich and fabulous culture, amazing natural and artificial tourism sites, the routines of respects towards one another and so much more. Very often time, I talk to my self, "I'm very fortunate to be here in Japan. I'm gonna make the most of my stay by trying the best with my studies, absorb as much as possible of the ways Japanese people live their lives that they can be this productive." Again, thank to Honda Foundation for their endless support for me and other Honda YES recipients. Never give up, Japan.
