After five years working in companies, I was very lucky to come back to the academic environment through a research visiting at National Institute of Informatics with Honda Y-E-S Plus program. This opportunity has broadened my horizons both in scientific research and Japanese live.
During a 5-month internship, I have worked on a natural language processing project which helps computer to understand the similarity between documents.
This project has allowed me to learn many lessons in scientific research and to gain a solid knowledge in Artificial Intelligence. I also get kindly support from my host - Prof. Miyao Yusuke, who has taught me how to conduct a professional research project from asking a research question to designing experiments and analyzing outcome results. In addition, my lab mates are very friendly and always willing to help both in workplace and personal live in my first days in Tokyo.
Exploring Japanese live is also an important aspect during my Honda Y-E-S Plus period. Two things I will always remember when I come back to Vietnam are Ueno station, where I commute to work every day and 7-eleven convenience stores, where I buy food on the way coming my apartment after work. I also had an awesome time for autumn color viewing at Showa Memorial Park.
Especially, it has been the first time I went to skiing at Yunomaru Ski Area, Nagano Prefecture.
This is most memorable experience I have had until now with Japan. I just want to thank Honda Foundation for making it possible! and would love to come again.
