Living and studying in Japan for the first 10 months has been an incredibly rewarding experience. As a foreign student, I had to take care of myself for all things, from finding a place to live to grocery shopping and dealing with administrative tasks. It was a challenge at first, as the language barrier made it difficult to communicate effectively, but I soon learned how to navigate daily life in Japan.

One thing that struck me was the kindness of the Japanese people. From my fellow students to shopkeepers and strangers on the street, everyone I encountered was polite and helpful. I felt welcomed and supported, which made the adjustment to a new culture and way of life much easier.

Studying at a Japanese university was a unique experience. The academic culture is very different from what I was used to back home, and I had to adapt to new teaching styles and expectations. However, I found the level of education to be excellent, and I appreciated the emphasis on conducting advanced research.

During the winter months, I had the opportunity to go skiing in the mountains of Hokkaido. The snow was powdery and abundant, and the slopes were challenging and fun. It was a great way to take a break from studying and enjoy the beauty of the Japanese landscape.

Later in the year, I was sent on a business trip to Okinawa. The island was breathtakingly beautiful, with crystal clear waters and lush greenery. I was able to visit Convention Conference Center and learn about the unique challenges and opportunities from researcher all around Japan. It was a valuable learning experience that gave me a broader perspective on the Japanese research styles and society as a whole.

Overall, my first 10 months living and studying in Japan have been a transformative experience. I have learned so much about myself, the world, and the kindness of others. I look forward to the rest of my time here and the opportunities it will bring.
