I stayed for two months in Tokyo for my summer internship at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. For me the experience has been nothing short of absolutely amazing. I witnessed the future, today. The Japanese posses the cutting edge in today’s technological world and the most wonderful fact is that they are humble about it! My time in Tokyo did not just equip me with professional knowledge to be used in the future, but it changed me as a person. Somebody in India had said to me that Japanese are the perfect hosts, really, that is so true! Intelligent, courteous, polite, humble, disciplined, precise and extremely hardworking, these were the common traits of all the Japanese people I met and I was inspired to imbibe in myself the same qualities.
I still remember running with Harada-san with him helping us with our luggage! Well it is not always that a MD of a foundation would extend that courtesy to mere college students! Honda Foundation very graciously and generously gave me the chance to share their culture and I am very grateful for that. This award I earnestly believe is a phenomenal step taken by the Honda Foundation to improve Indo-Japanese ties and a great initiative to attract Indian talent to Japan. Lastly, I would only like to add my very personal feeling; India is full with wonderful stories about Japan and I was so happy to see that all of them are true! I pray that it forever remains the same and our two ancient countries forever remain best friends.
