Someone tells me that Japanese people are an iceberg, what we can see is just 30% because they don’t wear their heart on their sleeve. I know they are right. The best example is my dormitory manager, he undercovers all his talent behind an ordinary appearance of a 60-year-old man. He stayed a half of his life in United States, and worked several jobs to survive, including playing music. He can play guitar, bass, piano, and drum; hence, we play music together every Saturday. He tells us about U.S and Japan in olden days, which I can’t find the second person like him. Making friend with a Japanese person is simple, but becoming closer to them and finding their 70% hidden secrecy is more challenging and requires long times. Coming to Japan, you can explore any cultural value, historical monuments, or high-tech knowledge easily, but discovering Japanese people, who have contributed to this country, is a never-ending story, extremely curious, and you would feel they are more awesome than you imagined.
