This is my 3rd time I come to Japan, but this time is the longest, and the most amazing. I have much more time and chances to work, talk with Japanese, travel to many places.

The use of technology is really advanced in Japan compare to other countries. There are many things from high speed data connection, punctual timing train system… but the thing I find most interesting is: the IC card. It is astounding how a card like Suica can be used everywhere, from the train/bus to supermarket, vending machine… And I was even further surprised when smartphone now can act as an IC card too. This is the thing I think Vietnam need to learn from Japan.

Japanese people are nice and kind. They helped and always willingly to help me when I needed. But most of them are shy, it takes sometime for them to get open to you. What I like best about Japanese is that they are very considerate. When I first arrived to the airport, it was kind of the university to sent 2 staffs to pick me up, helped me to carry luggage, take me to my room, which is nice since I’m a little tired after the flight and I wasn’t sure how to get to the school’s campus. Also when I come to my room, everything was ready, even the little details like toothbrush, towels… While staying here, they also help me with everything, like when I need to prepare some documents, or paying for insurance...

By staying longer, I also realized that there are more and more foreigner staying in Japan. It seems that Japan are more open to the world these days.

The only thing that is a problem for foreigner like me is language. Japanese do not speak English very well. And due to their shyness, they often avoid to talk to foreigner. I have also improved my Japanese a little, so it helped me a lot these days when I need to talk to Japanese, to go shopping… just a few words is very useful in daily life. There is one time I was concentrating reading book so I forgot to get off at the station. Luckily when I was look up, I happen to look at station’s name in hiragana, so I got off just in time. Knowing a little of Japanese can make your life here much more enjoyable.
